Dennis was sprinkled as an adult in 1972. As he and I were studying the subject of “baptism” as it is taught in the Bible, I pointed out that the words “sprinkling” and “baptism” are two different Greek words. Although the Greek word “to sprinkle” (rhantizo)is found in the New Testament (Hebrews 9:13; 12:24) it is never translated “baptize.” The Greek word baptizo is the word that is translated “baptize” (Acts 22:16; I Peter 3:21). Therefore, according to the Bible “sprinkling” is not “baptism.” He said several times, “For 47 years I thought I had been baptized.” How long have you been thinking that you have been baptized because you were sprinkled as a baby or as an adult?
